Judges in the Dutch Supreme Court has made up their minds concerning a case of whether or not strip shows were considered theater or a means of perversion. If the judges were to decide it was simply a place for men to stare at naked women then the taxes would be astronomical. The owner of the club has already paid thousands of dollars in to the system with his taxes. The owner of the establishment claimed what he was peddling was theater.

The judges seemed to agree with him. The judges ruled that since people are paying money to watch the women perform on stage it is considered theater. The owner of the strip club will have to be paid back his tax money from over the years. This amount is in the thousands of euros. Theaters are taxed less than strip clubs. The identity of the strip club owner has not been released and it is not said as to whether or not the judges were fans of “theatrical shows”.

It seems the Netherlands is in a strange position as of late. I heard on the news the other night they want to close down their dope bars, yet they let the strippers perform theater as freely as they wish. It makes you wonder how they decide on what is ethical and what is not. Is there a litmus test for what is considered okay in their society? It’s interesting to say the least. When I have more information on how they decide what is acceptable and what isn’t, I’ll be back with a follow up report. Until the next article, take care of yourself.
